This area has great tourism assets such as beaches, nature, gastronomy and culture. Of the municipalities that form are Santillana del Mar, Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera the most renowned and thus are major destinations, both in the region and in Cantabria.
In the western region lead two of the longest rivers in Cantabria: the Deva and also Nansa Escudo River. In addition to the numerous beaches, we find the Oyambre Natural Park and Mount Corona.
